How to use your WhatsApp account on multiple smartphones?

Sharing the same WhatsApp account on two smartphones is technically impossible. For good reason, as the platform explained in its FAQ, there are no options to have the same WhatsApp account with two different numbers.

However, there is a legal way around this problem and it is called WhatsApp for the web. Despite its few flaws, it will allow you to access your account on different devices and simultaneously.

Use your WhatsApp account on multiple smartphones

Basically, WhatsApp Web is designed to easily use the service on a PC or tablet. However, via its desktop mode of your web browser, it can also work on a second smartphone.

To do this, follow the 5 steps detailed below:

1. Open the browser on your second phone and go to WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com).
2. Tap on the three lines in the upper right corner of your screen and choose the Site Desktop Mode option to bring up a QR code.
3. On your main smartphone, open the WhatsApp application and go to Settings, then to WhatsApp Web/Desktop
4. Select Connect device.
5. Scan the QR code.

You should now be able to use WhatsApp on both of your devices.
